- Infants,
Children, Teens and College Students.
- Children who spend time away from home: Playing with
friends, sports, activities, camping, jogging, biking or
away at school or a University.
- Children who travel to family members Nationally and
Internationally.

they call and how will they find you if an accident occurs?

WHY Should I register my child in the NOKR?
In
the United States, about 30 million children and teens
participate in some form of organized sport. According to
the National SAFE KIDS campaign, more than 3.5 million
children ages 14 and under receive medical treatment for
sports injuries each year. The majority of these injuries
are from falls, collisions, overexertion or being struck by
an object, and they usually occur during unorganized or
informal sports activities. |

Injuries are a
major source of childhood emergency department and hospital
admissions. Accident statistics from the National Safety
Council, the National Center for Injury Prevention and
Control and other sources tell us that:
- Injury is the leading
cause of death in children over 1 year of age.
- Dogs bite more than 4.7
million people each year.

The

is
factual data that indicates children are at risk and we
should take the necessary precautions to safe guard them.
Children are the future of tomorrow.
Forty percent of all child injuries happen to children over
5 years old?
- As
children get older, parents naturally assume their child is
less susceptible to danger. After all, older children should
know better than to stick dangerous items in their mouths,
right? The truth is that a child's curiosity level does not
decrease with age. Make sure small, dangerous items are out
of reach of children and never leave your child unattended.

In the
United States during 2003, approximately 220,000 children
ages 14 years and younger were injured as occupants in motor
vehicle crashes. That’s an average of 602 injuries each day
(NHTSA 2004a).

Bicycles
are associated with more childhood injuries than any other
consumer product except the automobile. More than 70 percent
of children ages 5 to 14 (27.7 million) ride bicycles.

In 2002,
nearly 288,900 children ages 14 and under were treated in
hospital emergency rooms for bicycle-related injuries.

Children
ages 14 and under are five times more likely to be injured
in a bicycle-related crash than older riders.

Does
NOKR fit in with the Amber Alert?
The Amber Alert is a critical missing child
response program that utilizes the resources of law
enforcement and media to notify the public when children are
kidnapped by predators.
By using NOKR you are utilizing a
proactive tool that
allows you to store information to include a photo of your
child that could later be used by authorities at a moments
notice to help find your child.
How
safe is the information collected?
The information provided is collected on a secure registration page
inside a SSL (Secure Socket Layer), and then it is
transferred encrypted into a secure archiving area. SSL is a
protocol that allows for secure online transactions. SSL
uses the public-and-private key encryption system from RSA,
which also includes the use of a digital certificate.
Who can access this information?
Only Local and State Agencies that are authorized through the
NOKR system can access the information you have securely
stored.

Create a Registration card
(Once you've registered)
or Create NOKR Medical Card
3. Peace of mind (This is lasting)
Once you register your child, print a registration card and
laminate it. Place this card in your child's backpack, shoe,
wallet, purse, passport or anything they carry on a
regular bases. If your child is in day care,
have the day care provider hold an extra card. Consider
placing a card on file with your child's school. NOKR
recommends laminating this card for durability.
